When David was beginning to build the temple in the OT, there is this amazing prayer He prays of thankfulness for how the Lord had provided for the building of the temple. This prayerful song has been resonating on my heart this week during this season of thankfulness – in recognizing just HOW powerful our God is, how weak I am, and how much everything I have is His – came from Him, by Him, and is FOR Him…
Blessed are You, O Lord, the God of Israel our Father, forever and ever.
Yours, O Lord is:
riches & honor
for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours.
in your hand are power and might.
and then he goes on to recognize:
But who am I,…that we should be able to offer willingly? For ALL things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
Preaching this to myself and over our little family right now as we continued to be overwhelmed with how He’s providing for our girl to arrive, and all the while trusting His timing and power to make it all happen.
All we have is what He has given us – nothing more. Even if we think we’ve earned it, it’s all really a gift that He has the power to give and take away. He is so much stronger than we know. For whatever you are going through right now + whatever you will face in 5 years. Whatever the struggle, whatever the wait, whatever the victory. Power and might in His hands.
