Our Family Story

Our Story

Our family “started” as what some Raleigh locals call the typical Meredith girl and Wolfpack boy match-up. We met through mutual friends during our freshmen year of college. We didn’t know it at the time, but God had a big plan to knit our lives together in such a sweet way. After 3 years of friendship and not-so secret crushes, we started dating and were later engaged to be married. While we love the “us” that the Lord has given to us, we recently began to sense with joy that it was time to pray about growing our family.

God rocked our world a year after we were married when we went to India for the first time. It was during this trip that we fell in love with the orphans that we had met. Oh how we loved to spend hours on our trips holding them, playing, and sharing our life with those sweet children. From the first visit to India, we knew that God had placed in us a strong burden for the orphans of India. We both had discussed the possibility of adopting a child in the future, but it was in January 2012 that God solidified the desire in our hearts. Our heart continued to break for these precious children who really needed a mommy and daddy to take care of them. God made it very clear through that trip that we were to begin the adoption process sooner, rather than later! So, in April 2012 the process began to adopt a little girl from India and here we are today.

As a family, we pray that our adoption would be a reminder to all that the Father has rescued each of us orphaned children and brought us into His family through His son Jesus Christ. Thanks for reading, we ask that you would please pray for us, and let us know how we can be praying for you.  We would love to answer any of your questions about our adoption or the adoption process.  Feel free to email us at beccaleetaylor@gmail.com and jacobmtaylor@gmail.com

  1. Hi! I just started following your blog. This really touches my heart. My husband and I have just started the domestic adoption process with the public foster care system. We actually just began the parenting class last week…
And we are traveling to India in February for mission work! Sounds like we have alot in common!
I’m a friend of your sister Hannah. 🙂
